The University of Maine at Machias, a member of the University of Maine System, seeks applications for a Counselor. The successful applicant will provide short term individual counseling for university students who are experiencing a wide range of personal/emotional problems and mental health issues. This is a half-time, regular, fixed length, nine-month (mid-August to mid-May) position. The work schedule is spread out over four or five days consisting of afternoon and early evening hours while classes are in session.
Master’s Degree in Counseling or closely related field; licensed or license eligible in the state of Maine are required. Experience in a college counseling center with knowledge of the following areas: self-destructive behavior, substance abuse, eating disorders, diversity issues, sexuality and relationships is preferred. Anticipated start date: mid-September. Salary will range from $13,011 to $15,180, depending upon qualifications and experience.
