Early Care and Education Center

The Elizabeth Clarke Flaherty Early Childcare and Education Center serves the child care needs of both the University and Washington County. The childcare program has quality staff with over 35 years of combined experience. The staff offer rich experiences to foster creativity and growth in early childhood development.

The Early Childcare and Education program is located on the campus of the University of Maine at Machias across from the Frederic A. Reynolds Center and the Center for Lifelong Learning. The center has full- and part-time slots for infants through pre-schoolers, and recently received accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children - one of only 45 child care centers in Maine to do so.
