001 Jesu. Hayle, fulgent Phebus and fader eternall,
002 Parfite plasmator and God omnipotent,
003 Be whos will and power perpetuall
004 All thinges hath influence and beyng verament.
005 To the I giffe louyng and laude right excellent,
006 And to the sperite also, graunter of all grace,
007 Whilke by thi woorde and thi warke omnipotent
008 I am thi sonne and equale in that case.
009 O sapor suauitatis, o succour and solace,
010 O life eternall and luffer of chastit•
011 Whome aungels abowne and the erthe in his grete space
012 And all thinges create loues in magest•
013 Remembre, fader meke, in thi solempnyt•
014 The woundes of thi sonne, whilke by thy providence
015 þou made discende frome thyne equalit•
016 Into the wombe of Marye, be meke obedience.
017 Of a virgin inviolate for mans iniquyt•
018 Whilke for his synne stoode mekill fro thi grace,
019 Be hoole assente of thi solempnit•
020 þou made me incarnate, and trulie man I was.
021 Wherefore too spede me here in this space,
022 þou here me fader, hertely I the praye,
023 As for my moder truely in this case
024 þou here thi sonne, and herk what I shall saye.
025 Me semes mysilfe it is right grete offence
026 My moder wombe in erthe sulde putrifye,
027 Sen hir flessh and myne were bothe oone in escence,
028 I had none othir bot of hir truely.
029 She is my moder to whome legem adimpleui
030 Whilke thou has ordinate as by thi prouidence.
031 Graunte me thi grace, I the beseke hertely,
032 As for the tyme of hir meke innocence,
033 In woorde ne dede thoght the neuer to offende,
034 Sho myght be assumpt, I pray thyne excellence,
035 Vnto thi troone, and so to be commende,
036 In bodye and saule euer withoutyn ende
037 With the to reyne in thyne eternyt•
038 Fro sorrowe and sadnesse synners to offende.
039 O flagraunt fader, graunte yt myght so be.
040 God. O lampe of light, o lumen eternall,
041 O coequale sonne, o verrey sapience,
042 O mediator ande meen and lyfe perpetuall,
043 In whome of derk clowedes may haue none accidence-
044 Thoue knawes right wele by thy providence
045 I haue commyt my powere generall,
046 Tibi data potestas, ande plenall influence.
