GIS at UMM

Laboratory & Service Center

With fast, inexpensive computers and user-friendly software developed over the past decade, use of GIS technology has exploded. It is now required for many careers, leading to a growing demand for people who can use GIS technology.

The GIS Laboratory and Service Center at UMM is at the vanguard. In GIS classes and through our Service Center, undergraduates take on real-world projects, getting hands-on experience while making a real difference in Downeast communities.

Use the links on the left to visit course websites, learn more about GIS, explore the lab and service center, and check out maps made by students.
